Harry Najim has practiced law in Wichita for over thirty-five years. He has extensive experience in aviation business law matters and complex commercial litigation. He has conducted corporate and due diligence investigations, both in the United States and abroad. Harry has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East for a wide range of his clients’ international business interests.
Harry’s aviation business law practice has included representation in matters involving airline business administration, Part 135 operations, the sale and leasing of aircraft, the negotiation of contracts for suppliers to airframe manufacturers and airmen/pilot certification. He has appeared in proceedings before the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
Harry has broad experience in business transactional work, including: advising clients on the establishment of new businesses and the sale of existing businesses; the formation of domestic and off-shore business entities; the structuring of asset purchase and buy-sell agreements; contract negotiation and preparation; and advising clients on corporate governance.
Harry’s litigation practice includes family law representation in higher asset divorce cases. For several years Harry has also represented individuals and companies in the restaurant/hospitality business and has been actively involved in the development and establishment of several restaurants, including licensing by state and local regulatory agencies. He previously served as a principal shareholder Trustee and Director of a large restaurant group operating multiple food service establishments with over 500 employees.
Legal Accomplishments
- Plaintiff’s counsel in successful action against the United States Postal Service in connection with air transportation contract for the carriage of U.S. Priority Mail.
- Kansas counsel for all plaintiffs in Koch, et al. v. Koch Industries, Inc., et al., Case No. 85-1636-C, United States District Court for the District of Kansas.
- Defense counsel in trial of $6 Million dollar suit involving home security systems resulting in dismissal of client before verdict entered against co-defendants in the United States District Court for the District of Kansas.
- Defense counsel in trial of Lanham Act action filed in Kansas state court by manufacturer against wholesaler for alleged sale of counterfeit products with favorable outcome.
- Plaintiff’s counsel in successful action on behalf of widow against brokerage firm and broker for breach of fiduciary duty, negligence and misappropriation of life savings and retirement account.
- Retained to investigate the sale of counterfeit rare vintage wines in England and France purchased by collectors from private brokers and international auction houses.
- Successful defense of Kansas wholesaler resulting in withdrawal and dismissal of $1.8 Million dollar Tobacco Tax assessment by Oklahoma Tax Commission.
