He began law practice in criminal prosecution and business litigation, but his real estate and lender practice goes back almost 30 years to rendering title opinions and many years of representing savings and loan associations. He has extensive experience in legal design and document drafting for commercial loans and residential and manufactured home loan programs. He negotiates, prepares and closes purchase contracts and leases for commercial, industrial, and residential transactions. He is responsible for condominiums, townhouse developments and planned unit developments, advising owners’ associations and developers and creating, modifying, and terminating regimes for changing times. He often serves as local counsel on nationwide loan programs and complex multi-state transactions. In loan enforcement, he represents lenders in workouts, bankruptcies and foreclosures of hotels, apartments, office, retail, residential properties and a large amusement park. He advises and represents business clients (including manufacturing, construction, finance, and retail) on matters ranging from entity selection through mergers and acquisitions, vendor and customer contracts and disputes, to management transitions - in some instances to the third generation. Roger has been active in the estates area throughout his career. He counsels clients and prepares wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives for small through large estates. He has also served as an expert witness and consultant to other lawyers in real estate, probate, and business disputes.
